Description:
Aquatic Emergency Care (AEC) is a first aid course designed for aquatic environments, equipping candidates with the skills to effectively respond to emergencies in and around the water. Through hands-on, scenario-based training, participants develop the confidence and practical ability to assess and manage first aid emergencies while integrating rescue skills. Building on Assistant Lifeguard and Standard First Aid competencies, AEC is excellent preparation for employment and progression into National Lifeguard (Pool or Waterfront). The course is delivered by qualified instructors holding First Aid and Lifesaving Instructor/Examiner certifications, or by current National Lifeguard Instructor/Examiners, ensuring high-quality, industry-aligned instruction. Successful candidates receive a Lifesaving Society Aquatic Emergency Care certification, valid for 2 years.
Please note: Aquatic Emergency Care supplements learning from the Standard First Aid course. It does not replace the need to take a Standard First Aid course.
This course requires 100% attendance. Missing any portion of the course will require the student to take the course again as per LSS.
